Job Title: QUALITY ENGINEER

Applications are now sought from experienced Quality Engineers for a role within our Maritime business unit at Garden Island, New South Wales. Reporting to Business Operation Manager you will  act as a liaison interface to the business unit quality manager, and is responsible for ensuring that a contemporary approach to continuous improvement is implemented with projects.

• Acting as the principle project team interface ensuring the effective two-way communication of issues and a constructive “partnership” is established between the project and the other BAE functions to achieve quality outcomes
• Liaising with the projects customers on a formal and an informal basis to solicit feedback and perceptions relating to the performance in meeting their expectations
• Establishing mechanisms to provide customer feedback and encourage a strong customer orientation across all projects operations
• Ensuring appropriate management reviews are conducted by project management and actively assist in the process improvement process
• Conducting internal audits on behalf of the BAE Systems quality department to assess the projects compliance with its quality plan and standard procedures
• Establishing and maintaining a system performance metrics and orchestrates regular measurement, display performance against targets and provide statistic performance information for the business
• Assisting the contract review process with the interpretation and definition of quality requirements

As the ideal applicant, you will have:

• Highly developed organisational skills and  an ability to interact effectively with colleagues and other business units,  to implement business requirements
• Well-developed self-management skills and work autonomously using your own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
• An ability to identify  patterns, trends, or missing/hidden information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences is critical to this role
• Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
