Work within the port operation with no night shift
Opportunity to develop skills in operating a range of mobile equipment
Residential role based at Cape Lambert
Our port facilities consist of three shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading. Expansion works at Cape Lambert will underpin an expansion of our system capacity to 353 million tonnes per annum.
Reporting to the Site Support Supervisor, you will be operating mobile equipment such as water trucks, vacuum truck, front end loader, road sweeper, dugless remote control loaders, excavators, grader and trucks. Additionally, you will be involved in other tasks such as bulking, wash down, site demarcation, under belt clean up, traffic management and operating the mobile re-screening plant.
As an Operator, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering the tasks set by the Supervisor in a safe and efficient manner
Being actively involved in the team
Demonstrating flexibility in approach for the wide range of tasks which the team is accountable for
Conducting effective pre-starts on all equipment operated
Reporting indications of problems with team practices and procedures
Working towards Rio Tinto Iron Ore, State and Federal Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in operating mobile equipment such as front end loader, dozer and excavator.
