Job Title: COMMERCIAL AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER - 12 MONTH CONTRACT
BAE Systems Australia, in partnership with RMIT University and Pennant Training Systems Limited, has developed a leading-edge aviation technical training capability for the Australian Defence Force.
Applications are now sought from experienced Commercial and Procurement Managers for a key role in our Aerospace team on a fixed term contract basis in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. This newly created role will see you responsible for phasing in the one-off commercial and procurement elements for the Australian Defence Force Aviation Technical Training project.
In this key role, you will manage significant commercial and procurement issues, lead commercial negotiations and:
• Provide guidance to the business and projects on compliance with contract, corporate Australian government and foreign government requirements for management of intellectual property, controlled technology, confidential information, and classified data
• Manage and lead commercial and contractual terms and conditions for the project
• Identify and manage commercial and procurement risks and liabilities, develop cost-effective risk management strategies and implement appropriate mitigation measures
• Manage translation of front end feedback and key performance indicators into subcontractor action
• Deal with issues of foreign exchange, escalation, payment arrangements, guarantees and insurance
• Prepare negotiation strategies and lead negotiating teams on commercial issues
• Prepare and deliver commercial and procurement management plans
• Prepare, negotiate, document and manage major subcontracts and provide direction and guidance to sub-contract staff
• Manage the performance of major subcontractors and the associated contract deliverables to achieve key milestones
To successfully deliver project outcomes and achieve strategic aims and financial goals, your diverse experience will include:
• Experience within a commercial/procurement management environment paired with a relevant degree qualification
• Well-developed analytical, problem solving and leadership skills
• Strong capability to motivate and lead individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to shape and implement business requirements
• The ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences
