Our Sensory Group currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Researcher to join our iconic company. This role is at the heart of product innovation whereby you will harness your passion for the consumer and utilise consumer science and sensory expertise to assist with the optimisation of new food products and the maintenance of existing product portfolios.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Management of sensory activities within assigned business teams
• Responsible for actioning the most appropriate qualitative and quantitative sensory research methodologies, including the interpretation and reporting of complex data in understandable terms for all levels of the organisation
• Working with cross-functional project teams to offer appropriate consumer market research and product guidance during product development
• Management of external research supplier relationships
• Promote the use of robust experimental design and statistics within R&D
• Contribute to the growth and use of innovative sensory and consumer research methodologies to support new technology platforms
The key ingredients you will need to be successful in this role:
• Tertiary qualifications in Consumer Science, Food Science, Experimental Psychology or related field
• In-depth understanding of sensory research techniques and consumer science discipline
• Organisation / planning / priority setting / project management skills
• Written and oral communication skills including preparation of research briefs, reports and research presentations
• Basic statistical analysis (preferably in SPSS) and experience in design of experiments
• Previous experience or familiarity with general market research within an FMCG environment would be desirable.
