Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) offers securities investment management capabilities across a number of asset classes including fixed interest, currencies, equities, infrastructure securities, private markets, hedge funds and multi-asset allocation solutions. It delivers a full-service offering to both institutional and retail clients in Australia and the US, with selective offerings in other regions.
We began managing Global Listed Infrastructure portfolios in 2004. The Infrastructure Securities team is comprised of twenty people based in New York and Sydney who are solely focused on global listed infrastructure strategies.
We have an opportunity for an Asia-Pacific (including Japan) Infrastructure Securities Analyst to join the team in Sydney. You will be responsible for:
Research coverage of various utility and/or infrastructure stocks across Asian markets.
Company research and analysis
Financial modelling and the provision of investment recommendations to the portfolio management team
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience in analysing utility/infrastructure companies (gained through either investment / advisory work, equities research or funds management);
Excellent tertiary qualifications in Finance/Economics/Mathematics or other relevant discipline
Commenced studying for or have completed the CFA program
Preferably accrued specific experience of Asia Pacific Utility/Infrastructure Assets
Significant experience in building and evaluating forward-looking models
Strong analytical skills, including strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills
Have well developed investment decision making capabilities, and the ability to communicate conclusions clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing
Ability to work independently and contribute to the broader team environment
Independent thinker with a sense of curiosity and investigative drive, as well as sound business judgement
Hardworking, with high levels of energy, commitment and drive.
