> Job Description:Queensland Alumina Limited is one of the world's largest alumina refineries and is an integral part of the coastal community of Gladstone in Central Queensland.
QAL is seeking two (2) experienced Development Process Engineers to join our Technical Services department. The purpose of these roles is to lead process related project improvement and optimisation across the Bayer refinery.
The successful applicants will identify and address areas of opportunity and threat and contribute to the development of optimal process management strategies. You will achieve this through your leadership skills and understanding of the QAL plant, process, systems and people.

> Role responsibilities:
1. Lead multi-disciplinary teams to scope and deliver capital projects to pre-feasibility stage
2. Lead research orientated projects coordinating with QAL's owner business units across the globe
3. Identify and execute well focused improvement projects aligned with business needs
4. Process management system development
5. Develop and maintain relationships with plant customers and other relevant QAL staff and external organisations
6. Provide technical support and advice
> Skills required:
1. Tertiary qualification in Engineering - Process or Chemical
2. 5-10 years' experience in the Alumina industry or in a similar heavy industry plant environment is highly desirable
3. Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of process improvements
4. Proven problem solving ability (6 Sigma green belt or similar is highly desirable)
5. Proven experience with design, implementation and support of process management systems is essential
6. Experience in project management
7. Excellent communication, negotiating, analytical and report writing skills
