Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Software and Firmware development team at our global headquarters located on campus at Macquarie University. Reporting to the Head of Department, Software & Firmware, this role works with developers, product management and customers to bring new software products to market that are used by clinicians and recipients to optimise their hearing experience. The role is responsible for delivering projects to business requirements by managing risk, resources, people and processes.

In this permanent role you'll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to Cochlear's successful history of innovation by applying your expert knowledge of agile software development and project management in an R&D product development environment. You'll know you've been successful in this role when you've brought new software products to market that help Cochlear bring the gift of sound to more people around the world.

Essential Requirements

Experience managing the development of medical device or clinical application software using Agile methodology;
Proven leadership of medium sized (5-15) project teams in an R&D department in an enterprise organisation;
Track record of delivering projects to business requirements and managing project risk and scope with stakeholder engagement;
Demonstrated experience successfully managing outsourced/third-party software development vendors.
This role will suit someone who has experience working in R&D/product development environments. As Cochlear values experienced and passionate professionals who can add value through their specific expertise, we will not consider project managers looking to move from non-software or IT infrastructure domains.
