Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide excellent customer service whilst effectively managing all aspects involved in the collection and recovery of delinquent accounts, inclusive of deceased estates, bankruptcies, staff accounts.

Specifically this role focuses on post 90 day delinquent account and coordination and issuance of instructions to the Bank’s external solicitors to commence litigation and recovery action as well as the management of foreclosure and repossession action including the sale of such security.
Required Skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of collections legal recovery practices
Sound understanding of lending principles, both retail and commercial
Overall knowledge of banking procedures in Branch and Departments
Bank Executive and Management structure
Advanced knowledge of the credit management applications
Advanced understanding of BOQ policies and procedures as well as core computer systems
Collection policy and procedure, including legal requirements and restrictions
Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation including, but not limited to: Corporation Law (i.e. Liquidation, Voluntary Administrations & Receivership); Bankruptcy Act; The Environmental Protection Act; The National Consumer Credit Code (NCCP); The Privacy Act; Property Law Act; Australian Competition and Consumer Commission; The Banking Code of Practice; Trade Practices Act
Excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
Possession of excellent judgment based on above average decision making skills
Ability to absorb and learn new information
Ability to assist in maintaining statistics
Extensive experience in the control of both secured and unsecured debt
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
Automated Collection System - Tallyman
Windows NT
Customer Relationship Servicing System
Tracing systems (Electronic White Pages, CITEC Searches, QVAS Searches)
No formal qualification is necessary, however qualification in a relevant discipline is advantageous

Previous collection experience
Previous experience in a customer service environment
