Job Description
The purpose of the position is to:
Support and assist Managers of Credit Risk Review in their core activities of providing an independent view of the quality of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio
Continuously review the Banks commercial loan portfolio in coordination with the Credit Risk Review team to continuously, accurately and efficiently profile credit standards across the Bank and provide reporting to executive management, other internal stakeholders, as well as external parties such as APRA.
Contribute to and support the core activities of Credit Risk Review to ensure that we
a: Undertake regular reviews to test the quality of the loan portfolio,
b: Test compliance with credit policies and the effectiveness of the credit process, and
c: Act as a facilitator between the Network and Head Office business units to build processes and practices which contribute to the growth objectives of the business whilst sustaining the Banks credit culture.

Risk review program
Taking responsibility for credit review outcomes for the commercial loan portfolio.
Strategically plan, manage, and lead credit risk reviews across the commercial loan portfolio regionally & nationally.
Development of strategies & processes for early warning to enhance the overall credit quality of the commercial loan portfolio.
Accurately profiling the credit quality of the commercial loan portfolio to Executive Management, the Board, Audit and other stakeholders, as well as external auditors such as APRA
Reporting and monitoring
Analyse & write examination reports to key stakeholders recommending corrective actions.
Facilitate discussions with Risk Assessment Managers to augment the risk assessment process and Regional Managers & State Managers to support the continuous improvement in the credit process across all levels.
Related Business Units
Identification to Risk Assessment, Compliance, OMB Governance & Audit of potential efficiencies in the Bank’s credit assessment process which could be applied without inappropriate exacerbation of risk.
Special Projects
Special projects as directed by Senior Manager Credit Risk Review or his delegate
a) Industry/Market segment analysis.
b) Special reviews as a result of signals identified from activities within a portfolio.
c) Special investigations as directed
Required Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Accounting or finance related discipline (or undertaking) would be highly regarded
Experience:
5-10 years lending experience in a retail or commercial (favoured) environment
Credit assessment or review roles in this or other financial institutions
Degree in Business, Accounting or finance related discipline
Skills & Knowledge:
Understanding of key business drivers and key success factors in business
Sound report writing skills
Sound analytical skills
Sound knowledge of credit policy, regulatory codes and credit processes including scoring and other automated lending support programmes
Sound Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Sound interpersonal skills at all organisational levels
Effective mentoring skills
Being able to establish rapport with personnel in non-line areas
Committed and enthusiastic team contributor
Professional / balanced approach
Ability to manage and prioritise workflows without close supervision
