Job Description
The purpose of this position is to assess applications for Financial Assistance in a timely manner with full consideration given to the customer’s circumstances. The assessor will encompass good credit assessment strategies whilst at the same time ensuring that escalations through to the Financial Ombudsman kept to a minimum.
The assessor will be required to undertake Financial Hardship assessment for Retail, Commercial and Equipment Financial hardship applications.
The assessor will assess with efficiency and a mutual understanding of the customers circumstances whilst being mindful of the bank’s position and risk.
The team will avail BoQ’s customers of the medium via telephone or through a branch to apply for financial assistance to help customers overcome financial difficulties in a credit contract.
Whilst mandatory adherence to all compliance requirements under the Code of Banking Practice and National Credit Code will be considered, we will also consider all applications for both consumer and commercial that may not assume protection of any acts or regulations.
Escalation to the Team Leader for complex decisions
Required Skills
Skills & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge Retail Lending
Satisfactory knowledge in Commercial and Equipment Finance Lending
Proven analytical, computer and interpersonal skills
Sound knowledge of Code of Banking Practice, Uniform Consumer Credit Code and National Credit Code (replacing the UCCC).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise to meet deadlines
Ability to identify an acceptable lending risk to the Bank
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to solve problems and make decisions
Excellent people skills
Required Experience
Experience:
Proven customer service orientation
Minimum 4 years in credit related roles
Minimum 18 months in Commercial and Equipment Finance role
