As Project Manager you will represent Sales on a broad range of projects within Optus, responsibilities will range from scoping, specification of business requirements, business impact assessment, risk management, planning & forecasting, resourcing, coordinating deliverables, providing and maintaining appropriate documentation. In addition, you will be will be responsible for facilitating the implementation and delivery of CAPEX, OPEX, Continuous Improvement and/or Transformation projects into the various sales channels in a timely and cost effective manner whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
The assigned projects may be large scale and complex in nature with a high impact on the Sales organisation. In delivering these projects you may be required to manage a virtual team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and specialists, as well as engaging operational stakeholders and subject matter experts from across the wider Optus business as and where appropriate.
You will also be involved with Sales change management, communications and engagement with stakeholders from various levels of business such as Marketing, Customer Care, Information Technology, Networks, Franchise Owners, and external Optus partners.
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels for management to ensure Sales input and buy-in to project activities and key deliverables. You will work closely with the Portfolio Manager, Program Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and other core or steering team members in providing timely information, deliverables, feedback and leadership on various projects.
As our ideal candidate you will have a solid understanding of Sales infrastructure, best practice, business processes and an ability to quickly grasp the implications of system and process changes to the sales frontline. Additionally you will be able to proactively identify all impacts to Sales, including providing input into the production of headcount and financial models. This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to demonstrate your project leadership and time management skills to balance the requirements of multiple program and project activities under the sales portfolio.
Success in the role would require the following skills and experience:
A strong background of Project Management in a Telecommunications environment, including a demonstrated history of delivering complex projects on time and to budget
Relevant tertiary and formal Project Management qualifications
Ability to draw from a multitude of different methodologies to suit the project at hand
Excellent communication and presentation skills and eexperience in liaising with departments and different levels of management across a large organisation
Strong Customer focus and relationship building skills and a passion for championing change combined with excellent stakeholder management skills
Strong problem solving and decision making skills as well as highly developed Influencing and negotiation skills
