We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our Supply team at our manufacturing operation located in Newstead, Brisbane. The Procurement Manager is responsible for the delivery of the procurement processes and management of our valued supply partners. .
The role
Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Lead this role is responsible for:
The delivery and compliance of the Cochlear procurement processes.
Identifying and understanding business requirements, defining the strategies that will support meeting these requirements (including delivering the right goods or service to the right place at the right time at the right price) and driving the execution of these strategies.
Contributing to the coordination of activities across the Procurement team through liaison with other Procurement Manager's, the Quality and Business Systems Manager and the Supplier Quality Manager.
Participate in Procurement team management meetings.
The role is has a high degree of visibility outside the procurement function and will be expected to promote the capability and credibility of the Procurement team inside and outside Cochlear.
The Procurement Manager will also be expected to:
Build and lead a high performance team
Design and implement procurement frameworks and practices across Cochlear to drive business objectives and performance
Maintain continuity of supply of Cochlear product range
Manage existing supplier relationships to meet or exceed performance and quality standards
Ensure direct reports in a matrix structure are able to meet the matrix managers agreed requirements
The successful applicant will be degree qualified in Procurement, Engineering or Business with demonstrated experience in procurement and strategic sourcing strategies, building commercial relationships and negotiating terms. A proven ability to influence internal stakeholders at all levels and build and lead a group of procurement professionals is critical.
Exposure to high tech manufacturing (Micro Electronics / Plastics / Batteries / Injection Moulding) or engineering focused manufacturing environments, knowledge of ERP systems (e.g SAP and Oracle), advanced sourcing methodologies and models as well as exposure to quality and regulatory systems for medical device companies and lean methodologies will be highly regarded.
