AGL's Upstream Gas business has been established to create a portfolio of equity gas investments that will provide AGL with a more flexible, self-supply option for the supply of natural gas to fill the gap between wholesale gas contract positions and our customer's demand. Upstream Gas aims to optimise the value of the AGL gas and electricity portfolio.
We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Drilling and Completions Engineer to join our Drilling and Completions team based out of our Camden operations but covering projects as far ranging as Gloucester, the Hunter and QLD based assets. This role will primarily be responsible for planning and providing engineering support to all completions operations and working with the Workover Supervisor to develop workover programs and schedules for all workover activities. This role will see you working as part of a team to facilitate the drilling of wells and workover activities by supervising drilling and completions contractors and ensuring field operations are carried out to agreed plans, in a safe and resource-effective manner within budget.
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes and experience:
Extensive experience in a similar role developing best of class engineering work programs
Tertiary qualified in Petroleum Engineering
A safe working track record with experience managing contractors to work in a safe manner being highly regarded
Outstanding organisational, planning and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Previous supervisory experience
Excellent computer skills (Office suite, databases, engineering software)
Some experience in field based positions, working in a team with some mechanical aptitude and positive attitude to work.
Strong directional drilling background, ideally with some exposure to Coal Seam Gas
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve 'on the fly'
