Residential role based at Tom Price
Located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park, Tom Price is Rio Tinto's original Pilbara mine, currently employing about 950 people mainly on residential rosters. Tom Price is one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, hospital and a high standard of recreation facilities.
Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering and Planning, you will be responsible for liaising with Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Expansion Projects personnel, Operations personnel and Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Management (EPCM) team for providing project management expertise and engineering technical expertise.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, your key accountabilities will include:
Leading a team of electrical engineers and mentoring them to achieve set goals
Providing technical assistance and mentoring the operations personnel
Recommending and implementing changes to control strategies to improve plant performance
Coaching plant personnel as necessary to ensure correct maintenance practices in the plant
Facilitating the improvement of safety, reliability and maintainability of physical assets
Ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Pilbara Iron's safety systems and State and Federal regulations.
To be successfully considered for this role, you will hold an Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent. Your hands on experience in power systems and project management is essential. Strong leadership skills and commitment towards safety will ensure your success in this role. Additionally, your knowledge of Schneider or Citect software will further strengthen your application.
