We are seeking enthusiastic people looking for a career change or career start to join our Telecommunications Delivery team in Invercargill.
About the Role:
As a technical assistant, you will be working with a team of experienced field technicians and will responsible for completing preset tasks, some planning, organising materials, updating records and carrying out jointing and installation of cable.
Carrying out a variety of physical activities including cable hauling, digging, driving, backfilling, compacting, fibre cable handling (moving / laying into trench/ putting in etc).
Will be working across all of the teams on the site.
All technical assistants will be trained on fibre jointing and fibre blowing.
About you:
Suitable applicants will possess the following:
An energetic personality and enthusiastic approach to work
Current car licence is essential
Prefer HT licence but not essential
Be practical and think on your feet
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
Team player but able to work independently
Must be physically fit, punctual, reliable, responsible, self motivated
Must be able to take / follow directions
Must be have good communication skills as you will be interacting with a wide variety of team members, subcontractors as well as the general public
Utilities experience preferred but not essential
Got to be willing to travel when required and be willing to work the occasional overtime
