Job Title: Demand Planning Analyst, Wollongong, NSW.
BlueScope Steel has two main business units operating within Australia – Coated and Industrial Products Australia and Australian Distribution and Solutions. Port Kembla Steelworks is an integrated steelmaking operation with an annual production capacity of approximately 2.6 million tonnes of crude steel. Port Kembla Steelworks is the largest manufacturer and supplier of flat steel in Australia by volume and manufactures slab, hot rolled coil, plate, coated and pre-painted products.
An exciting opportunity currently exists in our BlueScope Australia & New Zealand, CIPA Sales and Marketing division for a talented and self motivated professional to join our Demand Planning department based in Port Kembla, New South Wales.
Working as a key member of the Demand Planning team you will support the monthly demand planning and annual budgeting processes.
Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Maintaining and developing economic market segment models and alternate forecasting models
Providing process capability and expert support to those accountable for Demand Plans
Maintaining the demand planning system, including statistical model projections, promotional/initiative plans and modelling alternate scenarios
Facilitating strategic decisions on issue resolution and gap closing sector plans
Liaising with Sales, Product Management and Supply on data flows to support integrated planning
Participating in business re-optimization through continuous improvement initiatives, reviews and adhoc projects
You will have previous demand planning or Industry experience along with
Woking knowledge of economics and statistics with emphasis on modelling
Strong Excel skills
High level understanding of customer, consumer and trade research data source including strengths and limitations
Overall business awareness
Proven success in simplifying, standardising and embedding business processes
Demonstrated analytical skills and rational decision making ability
