An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational/Management Accountant to join Downer Infrastructure Maintenance & Services team based in Canning Vale.
Reporting directly to the Management Accountant you will be responsible for controlling and managing a range of accounting activities for the Maintenance and Services side of the Downer Infrastructure business. The function of this role is to support the Management Accountant including reporting, forecasting and budgeting, debtor management, operational finance and administration functions, and provides management with accounting and financial advice.
As part of this team you will have a broad based role which will include but will not be limited to:
• Management of jobs and account structure set up in COINS
• Drive monthly forecast process
• Maintain forecasts, submitting complete re-forecasts monthly as required
• Compile budget
• Manage financial reporting process, timetable and integrity
• Manage financial systems and processes for departments
• Assist in development and implementation of process improvements and changes
• Direct finance and admin staff to ensure correct application of financial processes
• Drive and report on cash collection (claims, invoicing, debtors & WIP)
• Conduct month end processing and finalization of GL position
• Prepare reports from COINS and review with GMs and Managers
• Assist department managers with analysing and forecasting their financial results
• Prepare reports & analyses required by GM
• Participate in weekly operations meeting
• Prepare and submit Environmental reporting data
• Initiate, manage and report Fit 4 Business initiatives
To be the successful incumbent, you will have a tertiary degree in Accounting or related field is required along with solid experience in a similar or supporting role. Experience in using COINS or JDE accounting system is essential. This is a role would suit a outgoing, proactive and flexible individual with strong experience in an engineering environment or in the construction/surfacing industry
