Job Description
The purpose of this position is to apply best practice principles of Operational Excellence to a transactional environment by leading improvement thinking and implementing the methods and rigor of Lean Six Sigma with a wider team of process specialists.
As part of various multi-disciplinary project teams (there will be multiple projects within the broader programme) this role will need to take the lead on process improvement including application of full Lean Six Sigma toolset, workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement, knowledge and skills transfer to process specialists (business experts who are the front line of process change into the business), etc. This is a combined delivery and capability uplift role.
The position is best suited by senior Black Belts or Master Black Belts with a successful track record of real world implementation who are both technically proficient in Lean Six Sigma but who are pragmatic enough to know when/how to adapt the method to deliver real results at pace.
Required Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Qualifications:
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification (strongly preferred)
Project or Programme Management certification (preferred)
Degree in IT, Business or Analytics (preferred)
Formal Change Management certification (preferred)
Experience:
5+ years leading complex Lean Six Sigma or structured Business Improvement projects in a Black Belt or Master Black Belt capacity
2+ years delivering training/mentoring of junior process improvement staff
Experience working with financial services or transactional services environments
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong background in application of core Six Sigma change tools as well as basic analytical tools (ANOVA/GLM, SPC, Time Series methods, various graphical tools, etc.)
Strong background in real problem solving and solution implementation
Strong track record in results and navigating complex change scenarios
Strong track record in building and managing effective relationships across IT and the Business
Ability to recognise risks early and mitigate
Proven track record in designing solutions that drive business value
Strong process mapping & workshop facilitation skills
Proven Teamwork / Relationship Building skills
Ability to work independently to tight timeframes with a pro-active attitude
Ability to plan, organise and manage own time, and co-ordinate others as required
Excellent communication skills both oral and written as well as receptive listening skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical people
Excellent creative problem solving skills
Strong understanding of systems development processes and methodologies
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Very strong verbal written and communication skills & strong attention to detail
Strong customer focus and the ability to inspire confidence in your stakeholders
Experience in eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task & Workflow analysis
Analytical thinker with problem solving skills
Advanced working knowledge of standard applications (MS Word/Excel/Access, Visio etc.)
