Job Description
The purpose of this position is primarily to maximize the business potential of BOQ’s Information Technology Systems by gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements to determine systemic impacts and operational effectiveness of system and/or procedural changes.
With a focus on mapping and understanding complex processes, you will have a strong background in current state/future state modelling, business requirements development, problem diagnosis and workshop facilitation, as well as being customer-facing with strong relationship management skills.
Having substantial experience as a Business Analyst the Senior Business Analyst is viewed as a mentor, and as a result provides guidance and coaching to other team members, and is enabled with decision making responsibility in defined areas.
Required Skills
Strong background in current state/future state modelling to develop & define business requirements
Strong track record in building and managing effective relationships across IT and the Business
Ability to recognise risks early and mitigate
Proven track record in designing solutions that drive business value
Strong process mapping & workshop facilitation skills
Proven Teamwork / Relationship Building skills
Ability to work independently to tight timeframes with a pro-active attitude
2 yrs+ experience in mentoring BA’s
Ability to plan, organise and manage own time, and co-ordinate others as required
Excellent communication skills both oral and written as well as receptive listening skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical people
Excellent creative problem solving skills
Strong understanding of systems development processes and methodologies
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Very strong verbal written and communication skills & strong attention to detail
Strong customer focus and the ability to inspire confidence in your stakeholders
Experience in eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task & Workflow analysis
Analytical thinker with problem solving skills
Advanced working knowledge of standard applications (MS Word/Excel/Access, Visio etc)
Degree in IT systems or a business related discipline (or relevant experience)
Required Experience
8+ years experience in a similar role
Process and business systems analysis experience on all size projects
Experience working with Financial services products
