Residential role based at Tom Price
Located in the Central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park, Tom Price is Rio Tinto's original Pilbara mine, currently employing about 950 people mainly on residential rosters. Tom Price is one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, hospital and a high standard of recreation facilities.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for executing and delivering quality production schedules to meet the block pick targets whilst monitoring and reporting to operational departments.
As a Run Planner, your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering quality Progress Logs of Drilling (PLOD's) on a daily basis and taking into account constraints which may affect production
Developing productive relationships with all relevant personnel and communicating mine production requirements in a timely manner
Scheduling work according to the priorities of the Block Picks and the two weeks plan to meet production targets
Consulting the Batch Planner regarding prioritisation of production areas
Scheduling production in an efficient manner to increase productivity
Developing logical digging sequences to minimise pit movement issues and assisting in pit progression
Allocating equipment such as loaders and shovels in an effective manner
Identifying and communicating all production issues and risks within the short to medium-term.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in mine operations with strong communication skills, the ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively. Your exposure to a pit control environment and familiarity with mine planning and scheduling concepts will be advantageous. Additionally, your exposure to mine design software such as Vulcan and CAD and your intermediate Excel skills will be desirable.
