Job description

Sales Transaction Hub (STH) is a group within IBM that provides a variety of bid support services to the IBM sales organisation. The STH Graphic Designer role is a key part in the STH mission to create high quality deliverables for clients in support of sales opportunities. Typically the Graphic Designer will work with opportunity owners, sales teams, delivery teams, assigned STH staff and internal / external clients, providing subject matter expertise in visual information design for client proposals, presentations and other such materials. This may include graphics, audio and/or video created with a variety of software tools and techniques.
Core Responsibilities:
• Creative design, layout, illustration, grammatical editing and improving visual impact. This role requires ability to interpret and conceptualise internal/external client's objectives and create high-impact graphics to support complex sales messages for print and screen
• Application of design skills to create high-impact graphics in support of complex sales engagements, at a rapid rate
• Prepare graphics supporting proposals, oral presentations and related sales deliverables for clients, created using standard graphic design applications, but optimised for use in an MS Office environment.
• Work closely with other members of STH such as Bid Managers, Presentation Coaches, and Proposal Production Specialists, as well as directly with sales and client teams.
• Creative problem solving
Required Attributes:
• Tertiary-level qualification in graphic design / graphic arts
• Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, illustrator, Indesign, particularly
• Advanced knowledge, and practical application of, Microsoft Office suite – particularly MS Powerpoint and MS Word
• Demonstrate strong leadership by working proactively within the graphics team
• Advanced understanding, and demonstrated practical application of, “Information Design” skills
• Highly adept at performing graphics production, which is the preparation of graphic design files ready for delivery
• Understand IBM business conduct guidelines as they affect client deliverables
• Demonstration of effective collaboration, communication and teaming skills
• Apply knowledge of design principles and techniques
• Demonstrate innovation skills by suggesting improvements to current visual design approaches
• Ability to receive and understand service requests and effectively balance workload across multiple deals
• Fluent in English, oral and written
