An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Health Information Manager to manage the Health Information Services Unit at Bellbird Private Hospital.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Health Information Manager who will be responsible for the management of the Health Information Services Unit at Bellbird Private Hospital. The role encompasses a wide range of Health Information roles, including: data reporting, clinical indicators, participation in regular coding audits and quality activities, coding, medico-legal requests, forms management and addressing other day to day issues.
The successful candidate will act as a liaison person for medical, clerical and ward staff to ensure Health Information/medical record issues are addressed.
You will report to the Chief Health Information Manager of Knox Private Hospital, but will work autonomously onsite to ensure the above demands are met.
Bellbird Private Hospital is a 44 bed acute medical and surgical hospital located in Blackburn. Bellbird Private Hospital is rapidly changing with the introduction of new and expanded services including Plastic Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Oral Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopaedics and Endoscopy.
Essential Criteria:
Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent
Up to date knowledge and experience using ICD-10-AM including thorough knowledge of the Australian coding standards
Ability to be flexible and manage resources to meet company deadlines
Able to provide high quality health information coordination for the hospital and its customers
Desirable Criteria:
Understanding of the private sector and billing requirements
Previous experience using webPAS software
