Fly in fly out roster with 7 days on, 7 nights on and 7 off
Located 95 kilometres north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in and fly out rosters. As Australia's largest-producing iron ore mine, it generates more than 50 million tonnes of Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for working in the Central Control Room, obtaining information from Pit Patrollers and monitoring multiple screens that track the Autonomous Haulage System (AHS).
As a Central Controller, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing AHS hazards, identifying potential issues and looking for unprotected people, obstacles or equipment at the mine site
Ensuring that Health and Safety standards are met within the AHS Operations team and pit operations
Monitoring the efficiency and speed of the Autonomous Haulage Trucks and taking corrective actions
Monitoring and assisting in managing all radio communications and responding to breakdowns and any emergency situations
Assisting with the delivery of On-the-Job Training (OJT) for relief Central Controllers
Collating operational performance data and producing daily reports.
To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrated experience in operating heavy machinery within an open pit mining environment. Your working knowledge of dispatch operations along with the possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s license will be essential. Additionally, your prior supervisory or leading hand experience and competency in the use of SAP applications for statistical data analysis and data entry will be beneficial. Your knowledge of Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Safety and Training standards and fixed processing plants will help you succeed in this role.
