The Futures Division has been an active participant in the futures markets in Australia for over 20 years, maintaining a presence as a leading clearing and execution member of the Australian Stock Exchange. It has an established client base comprising many of Australia's leading fund managers, government and public enterprises and international bank, and provides opportunities for clients to benefit from movements within futures and options commodity markets as well as offering protection for existing exposures. The Futures Division is also an active participant in futures markets in Europe and the US and offers access to other markets through third party clearers.

We seek a Senior Manager, Operations Risk & Regulatory Control to work with key stakeholders of the business and actively manage and develop the Operations Risk & Regulatory Control risk framework for the Clearing business within the Futures Division of the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Group (FICC).

Your commercial approach and ability to build relationships at all levels will allow you to work and interact with a wide range of business partners increasing awareness of operational risks and controls whilst also assisting them with obtaining internal approvals for the implementation of new activities in an appropriately controlled manner.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for managing and monitoring regulatory reporting requirements for the Futures business and ongoing assessment of adequacy of controls to manage such reporting requirements;
Managing credit reporting requirements for the Futures business and assessing the existence and adequacy of controls to manage such reporting requirements;
Engaging with stakeholders in the Futures business, other areas of FICC and the Risk Management Group; Compliance etc.
Performing targeted compliance and operations risk reviews and drafting and assisting with implementing solutions to process and control design;
Incident and breach reporting; analysing incidents and breaches to identify control improvements necessary and ensuring actions are implemented.
Internal Controls.
To be considered, you should possess the following:

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Audit, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline;

Experience should include a minimum of 4-5 years in an operational risk management, audit or operations role within a "Big 4" firm, consultancy, financial services or banking organisation;
Strong relationship building skills with the ability to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders and risk management colleagues regarding anticipated and emerging issues;
A high degree of ability to use own initiative and drive and deliver in a fast-paced environment;
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal with a confidence in presenting to a broad range of audiences;
The ability to work collaboratively within a team of specialists.
